Low tide on Haida Gwaii’s North beach provides miles of uninterrupted pirate land for “Tsesk’ iye” [big crow]. Swiftly sweeping and gliding just inches above the wet sand that reflects the sky palate of the day, “Raven Over North Beach” sees everything available to him for sustenance. This is depicted in the eye within the feather on the underside of it’s beak, and also on the top side. These beautiful birds are smart and certainly live up to their character as the trickster
