The eagle being the highest flying and most “powerful” of the coastal birds as depicted by the copper eyes, soars just below the heavens protecting the corridors of the coastal mountains in search of salmon for sustenance. This piece was inspired by my original carving of “The Guardian”. I knew right away upon completion of my carving, I wanted to paint it in it’s natural setting.
